American’s education system and SSRI’ education tradition

I want to share the meeting with the U.S ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew J. Bryza.
Mr. Bryza met with more than 100 young people at Free Thought University (Azad Fikir Universiteti-AFU). The topic of the discussion was “Azerbaijan-U.S.A relationships”.
Most of the participants were invited with the most active members of the audience from AFU. The audience also included well-known young people, bloggers, journalists, etc. Mr.Bryza talked about free society, democracy, education and health care issues in Azerbaijan.

But I want to pay attention one that is very important our public university. Mr. Mattew Bryza answered everyone confidently. It was unusual lecture for us. The Azerbaijanian speaker is control audience like dictator.

I feel freely during lecture. I understood different between American’s education system and SSRI’ education tradition.

  1. I would say there are huge gaps between the Soviet and the American education systems. American education system focuses mostly on individual interests; provides freedom of choice for undergraduate and graduate students to choose any field they think they will succeed in, and of course provides all possible resources for them to complete their higher education. Government loans for a very long time with a very low interest are a great example of government support to students. American government long time ago realized that today's students are tomorrow's federal employees, officers, doctors, and of course the president. They have to be educated so that they will support the education when it is their turn.

About the blog, I have been following it for some quite time, and I would say there are interesting postings to read. About your English, keep it up. Good job!
